Adding Flickr Images to your WordPress Blog

Using images can really make your blog posts “pop.”  For my personal blogging, my favorite source for images is the Flickr community.  You can do a search for tagged images that allow usage with a Creative Commons license.  Essentially, you don’t have to pay for the image if you follow the creator’s guidelines, which most commonly means providing an attribution in the caption.

The good folks at Design Shack have listed a number of WordPress plugins that allow you to integrate Flickr images into your blog posts, including iFlickr, WordPress Flickr Manager, Flickr Photo Album and FlickrRSS.  What really attracted my attention was this tidbit:

…iFlickr is a WordPress plugin that allows you to easily find free images on Flickr and insert them into your blog post while automatically putting the attribution link underneath. It can save you quite a bit of time when looking for related images to your blog post…

Adding a caption is one more step that I’d love to cut out of the process! I’m an advocate of Creative Commons, and think it’s mandatory to share credit where credit is due.  If you’ve tried any of these plugins, please share comments!
